CoolSculpting® Elite Before & After Care

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive fat reduction procedure that targets stubborn fat by freezing it. Results typically begin to become noticeable within a few weeks, with optimal results developing over 2–3 months as the body naturally processes and eliminates the treated fat cells. Patience is key, as this is a gradual process. Please note that individual results may vary based on factors such as age, overall health, metabolism, lifestyle, diet, and personal goals. For optimal results, a series of 2–3 treatments may be recommended. Here's a guide to pre and post-care to help you get the best results:

Pre Care

Key timing and preparation steps to review before the Coolsculpting appointment:

  • Consultation: Have a thorough consultation with your provider to ensure CoolSculpting is suitable for you and to discuss your goals.

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements: If possible, avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications (like (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or certain herbal supplements) for a few days before the treatment, as these can increase bruising.

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before your appointment. Being well-hydrated can help your body process and flush out the fat cells more effectively.

  • Avoid Heavy Meals: Refrain from consuming large meals at least two hours before your session.

  • Medical Conditions: Inform your provider of any medical conditions or implanted devices (e.g., pacemakers, metal implants) as these can be contraindications.

  • Avoid applying lotions, oils, or creams to the treatment area on the day of your appointment.

  • Remove any jewelry or piercings near the treatment area before treatment.

  • Wear Comfortable Clothing: Choose loose, comfortable clothing for the treatment, as you might have some redness or minor discomfort afterward.

Please notify us before your appointment if you:

  • Have recently had surgery, injections, or other procedures in the treatment area.

  • Have any new medications, recent illnesses, or changes to your medical history.

  • Become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

  • Develop a skin infection, rash, open wound, or sunburn in the treatment area.

Post Care

  • Short term: It's normal to experience some redness, swelling and/or bruising in the treated area, but these usually resolve within a few days.

  • You might experience mild cramping, tenderness, numbness and muscle soreness for a few days, up to a few weeks. but it is typically manageable and temporary. Over-the-counter pain relievers can be used if needed.

  • Hydration: Continue to drink plenty of water after your treatment to help flush out the destroyed fat cells.

  • Physical Activity: Light physical activity, such as walking, is encouraged to aid the body's natural processes. Avoid strenuous exercise immediately after the treatment if you experience muscle soreness.

  • Balance Nutrition: Eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains to support overall health and help maintain your weight.

  • Stay Active: Incorporate a mix of cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and flexibility workouts into your routine to help boost metabolism and maximize the result.

  • Maintain a Stable Weight: Significant weight gain or loss can affect the results. Aim to maintain a stable weight through balanced eating and regular exercise.

  • Healthy lifestyle: Both smoking and excessive alcohol consumption can negatively impact health and overall body function and affect the result.

  • Follow Up: Attend any follow-up appointments as scheduled to track your progress and discuss any concerns with your provider.
